This section covers the HO scale lost-wax brass detail parts that form the core of our range. Each casting is produced from a master pattern and requires minimal cleanup—usually just removing a thin sprue or flash with a fine file or scalpel. The parts are intended for use on plastic or resin kits, as well as on brass locomotives and rolling stock where you want to replace moulded-on details with sharper metal equivalents. Typical applications include steam locomotive fittings such as boiler handrails, whistle turrets, and sand domes, as well as underframe brake gear and coupler pockets. Before fitting, wash the parts in warm soapy water to remove any residual release agent, then dry thoroughly. Use a slow-setting cyanoacrylate or epoxy for a secure bond, and if you need to solder, our brass is a standard alloy that takes low-temperature solder well. These parts suit most HO prototypes, from North American to British and European outline, and can be adapted with a little filing to fit specific models.

The urethane castings in this section are one-piece mouldings that replicate larger assemblies, such as wagon bodies, locomotive cabs, or tender shells, in a rigid, low-shrink resin. They are supplied with a light grey primer finish that you can paint directly, but we recommend a quick wash in detergent and a rinse before priming to ensure good adhesion. You will need to cut away the pour stubs and any thin flash from the mould parting line, using a razor saw and wet-and-dry paper. The resin is easy to drill and tap for added details, and it responds well to solvent-based plastic cements if you need to join sections, though for metal-to-resin joints use epoxy. These parts are designed for HO scale, but because they are scale-accurate, they can also serve as masters for your own casting or as patterns for scratchbuilding in other scales if you scale them photographically.

This catalogue section lists the individual components and assemblies available for HO modellers who wish to upgrade ready-to-run models or build from kits. The brass parts are ideal for adding fine detail to locomotives and freight cars, while the urethane items provide a quick way to replace entire bodies or major sub-assemblies. When preparing any of these parts, take care to test-fit before gluing, as the castings are made to fine tolerances and may need a slight adjustment to fit your particular model. For the urethane, you can soften or reshape it with gentle heat from a hairdryer, but avoid overheating as it will distort. For the brass, bending should be done with pliers that have smooth jaws to avoid marking the metal. All parts are designed to be used with standard modelling tools and adhesives, and we have kept the range to items that we know from experience are useful for common modelling projects. We hope you find them straightforward to incorporate into your work.
